Description
Unboxing and review of the DJI Mavic Mini, weighing in at less than 250 grams with its battery inserted.
My DJI Mavic Mini YouTube video above.
(I also included Mavic Mini flight mobile phone footage at 8:00 minute mark. You can compare the footage from the Mavic Mini's Internal SD Card)
The Mavic Mini is quit a good quadcopter, and works really well, (as long as you don't push it)
This is a lightweight quadcopter that can handle light winds up to 10 M/S 36.00 kph, but it's best not to exceed 6 m/s 21.6 kph so you can activate Return To Home (8 m/s 28.80 kph) if necessary.
One of the common mistakes that beginners make, is to fly beyond line of sight in strong winds, then hit the Return To Home button, the quadcopter will raise up to its predetermined height and drop to P mode (Medium speed) which is sometimes slower than the wind, so it gets carried away. (The higher the altitude, the stronger the wind is blowing)
What you must do if your panicking and can't see your quad, is relax, open the Map, and hit the S (Sport mode), and fly the mavic mini manually back home.
The sports mode is the fastest speed the mini quad can fly, so this is your best chance for it to return home in strong winds.
Mavic Mini Maximum Speed:
- 13 m/s (S Mode) 46.79 kph (Sport mode the fastest)
- 8 m/s (P Mode) 28.80 kph (Maximum Return to Home Speed)
- 4 m/s (C Mode) 14.40 kph (Cinematic used for smooth videos)
